Applying
What you need to apply
Have your title, proof of income and insurance ready. We start from your plate, so you do not type the year, make or model.
What we need from you
- The title in your name
- We will name the exact requirement when you apply.
- A document that shows your income
- We will name the exact requirement when you apply.
- Insurance on the vehicle
- The agreement requires the vehicle to be insured.
- A Texas address
- We will name the exact requirement when you apply.
- The vehicle, for an inspection
- Where the inspection happens is being confirmed.
- Your credit
- We will never run a credit check just to show you a price.
The documents you photograph
The application asks for each of these in turn. A photo from your phone works.
Vehicle title
A photo is fine. JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 15 MB.
The title is the whole basis of the agreement — it shows the vehicle is yours and whether anyone else has a claim on it.
Photo ID
Driver’s license or state ID. Front side. JPG or PNG.
Federal rules require us to confirm you are who you say you are before any funds are advanced. It also stops somebody else using your title.
Insurance
The declarations page — the one with the dates and the VIN.
The agreement requires the vehicle to be insured. We check the dates and the VIN, nothing else on the page.
Proof of income
A recent pay stub, a benefits letter, or a bank statement.
Your income sets a ceiling on the amount advanced. It is a limit on us, not a judgment about you.
Odometer
Engine on, every digit readable.
Mileage moves the vehicle valuation more than almost anything else, and the valuation sets how much you can be offered. One photo beats an estimate.
VIN plate
Driver-side dash through the windshield, or the door-jamb sticker.
The VIN ties the title, the insurance and the valuation to one specific car. We read it off the photo and show it to you to confirm — we never file it without you looking at it first.
The application is ready when you are.
Have your title, your insurance card and a document that shows your income nearby.
The terms in brief
- Your vehicle secures the agreement. A lien is recorded on your title while the agreement is in place, and the vehicle can be repossessed if payments aren’t made as agreed.
- Pay off early at any time. There’s no prepayment penalty.
- Changed your mind? You may cancel by midnight of the third calendar day after you sign, at no cost. You return the amount advanced and owe nothing further.
- Your full cost is shown in dollars and as an APR before you sign.
